Tines transforms workflow automation with Claude in Amazon Bedrock

Tines is a workflow orchestration and automation platform for security and IT teams to build, run, and monitor their most important workflows. They use Claude in Amazon Bedrock to help make complex automation accessible to non-technical users while maintaining enterprise-grade flexibility and security.
With Claude as a foundational part of its platform, Tines delivers:
- 10–100x usability improvement in complex data transformations
- 100x faster time-to-value — converting 120-step workflows to single-step agents
- Dramatically reduced workflow building time through AI-powered automation
Breaking through the automation accessibility barrier
Security and IT teams face an impossible trade-off with traditional automation tools: powerful platforms requiring engineering expertise, or simple tools that can’t handle complex, multi-step security operations. Tines eliminates this trade-off by combining no- and low-code simplicity with enterprise-grade power, security, and flexibility.
"Previously, security analysts needed to consult or collaborate with a security engineer to solve a complex data transformation," said Stephen O'Brien, who leads the Product team at Tines. "Our mission is to power the world's most important workflows, which means helping teams across the full lifecycle—allowing them to build and iterate workflows, operationally run them in the background, and monitor them over time to ensure things are healthy."
Choosing Claude for security-first AI capabilities
Tines needed an AI solution that would make workflows more accessible without compromising the security and reliability their enterprise customers required. Claude delivered both superior performance and enterprise-grade security features.
"We love the Claude family of models—they've consistently topped the leaderboards, with particularly impressive capabilities in code authoring and tool use," said O'Brien. The deciding factor was Claude's availability in Amazon Bedrock, which addressed Tines' strict security requirements. "We run on Amazon Web Services (AWS), where Claude is conveniently offered. This enables us to build on AI models without networking over the public Internet, or introducing additional subprocessors of our users' data."
The integration validated their choice. “Amazon Bedrock made integration straightforward from a technical, security, and infrastructure perspective,” O’Brien noted. “We love that it didn’t expand our risk envelope.”
Three ways Claude powers intelligent workflow automation at Tines
Tines integrated Claude across their platform to transform how teams create and manage workflows:
- Automatic Transform Mode: Haiku powers complex data transformations without code, allowing users to compose sophisticated data manipulations through natural language. This eliminates the dependency on engineering resources for complex data manipulation.
- Workbench: Sonnet drives their universal AI copilot, offering all the connectivity and workflow power of Tines in a secure chat environment. This provides teams with a conversational interface to access Tines' full automation capabilities.
- Agents: Sonnet enables fully or partially agentic workflows with reasoning and tool use, launched as their latest tier 1 product in late June 2025. These agents can handle the workflow logic dynamically during execution, reducing complex multi-step processes to single operations.
Transforming productivity and workflow creation
Claude's integration extends beyond automation metrics, empowering Tines to transform how customers approach workflow creation and management. The impact is evident in data transformations, where Claude has helped create what O'Brien calls "a profound usability gain of our product, around 10–100x improvement." Security analysts now complete instantly what previously required security engineers.
The Agents feature represents an even more dramatic efficiency gain. "Our Agents feature can reduce the time spent building workflows because the AI can do the plumbing on the fly when running," O'Brien explained. "In one case study, a 120-step workflow was converted to a single-step agent, with comparable results. This corresponds to a 100x time-to-value improvement."
These improvements benefit Tines and transform how their customers operate. Teams that once needed specialized technical knowledge can now build sophisticated workflows independently, while complex multi-step processes become single-agent operations that adapt dynamically to changing conditions.
Building the future of AI-powered automation
Tines envisions their automation platform as the backbone of enterprise AI operations. "We see Tines as being a core solution that enables businesses to harness the full power of AI," O'Brien said. "Our goal, quite simply, is to maximize enterprise AI adoption and drive unparalleled return on customers' investments in AI."
Beyond platform expansion, Tines is exploring ways to embed their capabilities directly into AI tools teams already use. "Right now, one trend is MCP, and we're looking at how we might offer the connectivity power of Tines in more remote places, like Claude Code or third-party AI chat tools that teams have adopted," O'Brien explained. This approach would help bring Tines' workflow automation to wherever teams are having AI conversations, making powerful automation as accessible as a chat interface. Their collaboration with Anthropic enables this ambitious vision.
"Our work with Anthropic is essential in this regard and we can't wait to see where it goes next."
