These Supplemental Consumer Credits Terms (“Consumer Credit Terms”) form part of the Consumer Terms of Service (the “Consumer Terms”) that you have with Anthropic (the “Agreement”). Any capitalized terms not defined in these Consumer Credit Terms will have the definitions stated in the Agreement.

A. Types of Credits

  1. Usage Credits. Unless otherwise agreed to between you and Anthropic, Anthropic may require you to pay for Services sufficient to cover your usage according to Model Pricing Page, as may be updated from time to time. A defined quantity of Services purchased may be reflected as “Usage Credits”. Usage Credits represent a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to access and consume a corresponding quantity of Services. Your order for Usage Credits constitutes an offer by you to purchase those Usage Credits. Anthropic will notify you if it accepts your offer (the "Confirmation Notice"). These Consumer Credit Terms will become effective when Anthropic sends the Confirmation Notice.
  2. Promotional Credits. Anthropic may, in its sole discretion, offer you certain quantities of free Services as part of a promotion or during sign up for the Services which may be similarly characterized as credits (“Promotional Credits”).

B. Terms

  1. Non-Refundable. Credits issued by Anthropic, which include Usage Credits, Promotional Credits and any other credits Anthropic offers (“Credits”) are non-refundable, except where applicable law requires a refund or in cases of fraud. Nothing in these Consumer Credit Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
  2. Expiration: Usage Credits purchased on or after December 7, 2026 expire 12 months after the date of purchase, including Usage Credits purchased through the Balance Maintenance Service (as defined below). Usage Credits purchased before December 7, 2026 do not expire. If you reside in Japan, Usage Credits purchased on or after September 10, 2026 expire six months after the date of purchase. If you reside in Canada or Taiwan, Usage Credits do not expire. For Credits purchased on or after December 7, 2026, Credits with the earliest expiration date are used first. You can view expiration dates on the Usage page in Settings, and Anthropic will notify you by email before Usage Credits expire. Promotional Credits expire at the time indicated when issued (or otherwise one calendar year from when issued if no time is specified). Credits will also automatically expire if you close your Anthropic account and such Credits cannot be recovered. Credits are not legal tender or currency of any kind and have no cash value.   3. No Transfer. You may not transfer or sell Credits, whether paid for or provided as part of a promotion, to any other person or entity, and Credits may only be used by the holder of the Anthropic account to which the Credits are associated.
  4. Balance Maintenance Service. You may have the option to automatically purchase additional Credits (“Balance Maintenance Service” or “Autoreload”) when your Credits reach a certain level, which may be set by you on the Plans & Billing Page of your Anthropic account. If you activate the Balance Maintenance Service, you authorize Anthropic to charge the payment method designated in your account on a recurring basis for the applicable fees and taxes for the amount of Credits added to your Anthropic account as part of the Balance Maintenance Service, until you opt out of the Balance Maintenance Service. All Credits added to your Anthropic account as part of the Balance Maintenance Service will be charged on or around the day on which the Credits are added to your Anthropic account.
